Shores Animal Hospital has created a charitable fund to offer grants to clients and non-profit organizations who need financial assistance to provide our life-saving veterinary care for their pets.

All too often, pet owners find themselves financially unprepared to do what is needed to save their pet after an accident or during emergencies and face difficult decisions if they cannot afford treatment.

Shores Animal Hospital does not want clients to have to make that decision based solely on the stress of financial payment. Inspired to help less fortunate owners afford emergency pet care, we’ve established “The Dr. Stephen Shores Lifetime Achievement Veterinary Care Fund” with the Veterinary Care Foundation.

Dr. Stephen Shores, founder of Shores Animal Hospital, was a veterinarian helping Gainesville pets since 1974.  He has patented pet products, been active in industry legislation and been honored numerous times by his peers. Dr. Shores passed from a courageous battle with cancer in 2016.

The Veterinary Care Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) charitable foundation where 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to veterinary practices like Shores Animal Hospital to use for charitable funds.  The Veterinary Care Foundation never uses charitable contributions for administration, salaries or fundraising.

For those of you who are in a position to help less fortunate pet owners, you can donate by clicking on The Dr. Stephen Shores Lifetime Achievement Veterinary Care Fund” link here or by coming to Shores Animal Hospital and completing the form.

Your donation is tax deductible (consult your accountant) and you will receive a tax receipt.

Thank you for your generosity and should you have any questions, please contact Karen Hardcastle, Shores Animal Hospital Practice Manager, at 352-372-8387.

Hey Karen! I know we have spoke about the 5013C rescue I work with. The Mia Foundation caters only to animals born with birth defects. I miyself have three babies they saved! We just took in a rooster born without a beak and a pig born with out a anus!! Both are just two of the small cases we take. We have animals born with missing limbs and cleft lips and pallets. Most of the surgeries are highly expensive and the Foundation is finding it hard to take in more animals. What I was looking to see if you could do a donation. I was just reading about the The Dr. Stephen Shores Lifetime Achievement Veterinary Care Fund". Is there anything we can do to become a possible donation? I can provide you with any information you might need. Talk to you soon! 352 281 5375
